The verny guys do this too. A recent news report about the struggle between the consumer panchayat and taximen's unionin the Mumbai Times supplement of Maharashtra Times (a sister paper of TOI)said: "Aata ball sarkarchya courtat gela aahe." (a literal translation of the English cliche 'the ball is now in the government's court.' The paper markets itself as progressive and "mumbai-ian" and murders our language in the process. Cringe.
