AM BACK!
Yes, guys! I'm back. Sorry for being away for 10 days. There were, let's just say, personal reasons behind my absence. But I'm back and, to borrow a cliche from The Times of India reporters, I'm back WITH A BANG!!
I must say your blog has some brilliant insights into basic grammatical principles that everyone should know - specially people whose writings are read by lakhs of people every day! You're right, some of these people have such poor grammar that the first thought I often have when reading the news is "What the hell were they thinking when they wrote this tripe?"
An observation - do something about the fonts on your page - there're too many colours and too many font sizes floating around. It's distracting at best, and often extremely irritating, forcing me to change the font size in my browser to be able to read a post.
Hey MV, great reading man. Thanks for the late night call post the birthday dinner and for letting me know about your latest venture. I have to say this will be a great resource for journalists of all hues, students, beginner and the jaded who want a reminder of how news is actually written. It such a wake up and smell the coffee blog -- love it. cheers R
you said you're back but haven't seen anything new from you. hope you're not getting threatened by those who feel threatened...
here's a related discussion going on Rediff on "Does the media ignore the 'real' India?" Interesting to read what other people are saying: http://in.rediff.com/news/2006/may/10msg.htm
There are many reasons why I confine my reading of the newspapers to the comics and astrology section. This blog outlines all the reasons why those now seem like the only sections that make actual sense.
hi mv. the quality of artices in mainstream media is going down. but anyway, an article in hindustan times recently might take the crown for being the silliest article ever to be written by a human. N i thought only times has d right to publish such articles. the original link on hindustantimes.com has been deleted, apparently, after HT realised its stupidity. However, the article can be found out at the following post.
Hi, just got the reference of your Blog from a friend. I think you do some wonderful research. I would recommend you put up these stuff on some greater platform, for example: Merinews. Check out www.merinews.com. If possible submit some of your works there. I am sure a thousands of people will like to read these stories.
